NY County Could Get $2M to Build AD Facility

Renewable energy in the region continues to grow with the help of state funding.

The Oneida County Water Pollution Control Plant could receive up to $2 million from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to help offset the cost of constructing and operating an anaerobic digestion facility as part of its solid waste handling process.

The system will convert sewage waste into methane gas, which then will be used to produce energy. It will be comprised of two primary digesters and one secondary digester.
