Single-Stream Stealing

Thieves in Hamilton, Ky., target entire recycling carts.

Maybe thieves in Hamilton, Ky., are especially hard up, or maybe they like the ease of stealing something with wheels and a handle, but either way Rumpke garbage and recycling carts are disappearing from the city's streets and police there can't figure out why. There's some speculation that thieves are attracted by the prospect of valuable recyclables, like aluminum cans. Rather than risking detection while digging through the carts on site, they simply wheel them away to paw through their contents at their leisure.

That or they're starting an underground garbage cart racing league.
