New Campaign Aims to Improve Buffalo Recycling Rates

The city of Buffalo's recycling rate is far behind the national average. In an effort to improve that rate, Mayor Byron Brown launched a new campaign on Earth Day 2015 in order to improve those numbers.

The $50,000 campaign is paid for by a recycling grant the city received.

It's called "34 and More."

"Thirty-four percent recycling is right at the national average. Buffalo's goal is to not only meet the national average but to exceed it," Brown said at a Wednesday press conference.
