Rail Waste Hauler TransLoad America Files for Bankruptcy

Rail waste hauling company TransLoad America Inc. (TLA) has filed for Chapter 7 under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

The South Orange, N.J.-based TransLoad made the filing in late June with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey, according to court reports. An attorney for the company did not immediately return a request for more information.

In 2007 TransLoad opened a facility in Smith Township, Ohio. At the time the company said it expected to haul more than 2,000 tons of waste each day through the 1,400-acre facility.
