Ousted Waste Management Cites Compliments, Wants Gary Back

A Waste Management spokeswoman said Tuesday the company hopes to reverse the Gary Sanitary District’s termination of its waste-hauling contract.

“Waste Management is reaching out to the mayor in hopes of resolving the situation as we have received numerous compliments, including from the mayor herself and her team, regarding our service,” Lisa Disbrow said.

“Waste Management was surprised and disappointed that the Gary Sanitary District decided to cancel the contract based upon the ‘convenience’ clause,” she said.
