The recently installed vertical gas wells at the Ontario County Landfill are now connected to the gas collection system. According to an update from landfill manager Casella Waste Systems, Casella last week began the process of covering the slopes that were affected by installing the lines.

The four gas flares were tested March 24.

Harsh weather conditions in February had put the project behind schedule.
