The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has made two staff appointments.

The Washington-based waste and recycling association said in a news release it named Jonathan Sper as its director of membership marketing and business development, and Craig Branson as communications manager.

Sper will be responsible for membership growth, recruitment and retention. He comes to EIA from Child Care Aware of America, where he was director of marketing.

Branson will oversee a number of media relations, member communications and public relations activities, in addition to having primary responsibility for the organization's websites and social media efforts. Branson joins EIA after a short consulting stint, and previously had multiple roles at the American Society of News Editors in Reston, Va.

"We are pleased that Jon and Craig are joining our team,” said Sharon Kneiss, EIA president and CEO. “Each of them has a track record of measurable success and brings relevant knowledge and skill to their new positions from their previous work experiences. Their records make them excellent choices for EIA.”

EIA is restsructuring its operations into four key areas, including Communications and Membership.
