EIA Gets Record Nomination Numbers for Driver Awards

More About:

The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has received a record number of nominations for its Driver of the Year (DOTY) awards, which recognize safety and service.

The Washington-based waste and recycling association said in a news release it has received 898 applications, nearly a 40-percent increase from 2012. Applications rose for both large and small commercial companies and public sector organizations. EIA expanded the number of award categories to nine from seven for 2013.

“This is the second year in a row that we received a record number of nominations,” said David Biderman, EIA director of safety. “The program continues to grow and garner increased attention for the many great drivers working for our industry.” Winners will be announced at WasteExpo in New Orleans May 21 at the EIA Inspirational Breakfast.
