Redemtech Becomes First Certified for E-Recycling in Canada

Redemtech said it has become the first company to achieve electronics recycling certification in Canada.

The Columbus, Ohio-based e-recycling and information technology asset disposition company said in a news release it received e-Stewards electronic recycling certification for its Guelph, Ontario, operation. It called the move key to helping Canadian and multi-national organizations ensure environmental responsibility and legal compliance.

Redemtech said it chose to pursue e-Stewards certification because it is the only e-waste recycling standard that assures customers no e-waste will be exported to developing countries as well as zero use of prison labor, landfills or incinerators for toxic materials. E-Stewards is a globally accredited, third-party audited program developed by the Basel Action Network, with support from environmental groups and industry leaders.

Redemtech Canada President Kuljit Parmar said the company has an understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment and marketplace to meet the challenge.
