Iowa City Hopes to Cut Down on Food Waste

Iowa City officials say they want to cut down on food waste going into the Iowa City landfill, so they’re offering a slew of programs next month to educate the public about the issue.

“Public awareness is a big part of this,” said Jennifer Jordan, Iowa City’s Recycling Coordinator.

Programs will be offered at the public library and recycling center, ranging from open houses to documentary films.
