Solar Farms Will Rise at 2 S.J. Landfill Sites

PSE&G will build its two largest solar farms in South Jersey atop closed landfills.

Construction is underway on a solar project to generate electricity at the capped Parklands Reclamation Sanitary Landfill in Bordentown Township.

The largest solar farm will be at Kinsley Landfill in Deptford. It is in the early stage of construction.

The projects are part of PSE&G's statewide Solar 4 All program, which ultimately will generate clean energy electricity to power the equivalent of 20,000 homes a year.

"Landfills like Parklands offer prime opportunities for large-scale solar development that benefits New Jersey and our customers," said Joe Forline, PSE&G vice president of customer solutions.
