Beaverton, Ore.-based software manufacturer Routeware joined with consulting firm LinLar Enterprises to offer waste haulers a new route auditing package.
Conyers, Ga.-based Pratt Industries opened a paper mill in Shreveport, La., that will produce 360,000 tons of 100 percent recycled containerboard a year. Pratt's new materials recovery facility is adjacent to the paper mill.
Burlington, Ontario, Canada-based Waste Services closed two acquisitions in Miami-Dade County, Fla. In one deal, the firm acquired Republic Services' operations and related assets in the county. In a second, Waste Services purchased DisposAll Inc.'s operations in the county. The combined purchase price of the deals is $48 million. Waste Services expects the deals to add approximately $28 million in annual revenue.
Longwood, Fla.-based Waste Pro purchased a 77,000-square-foot American LaFrance manufacturing facility in Seminole County, Fla. The site will be used as Waste Pro's central Florida headquarters. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Veolia Environmental Services North America launched EnvironmentalPassion.com, a Web portal tied to the company's ongoing brand awareness campaign.
