In Clean Times and in Dirty Times

Jennifer Grzeskowiak

Some men probably tire of their wives asking them to take out the trash. A quick trip to the curb, however, is nothing compared to what one Florida man did for his spouse whose wallet ended up at a transfer station after inadvertently being thrown in the trash along with her checkbook.

Wanting to avoid the ordeal of canceling numerous credit cards, the Osceola County resident called Waste Management to find out where his trash was being taken. He then drove to the transfer station in Orlando, where workers secured an area of the facility and gave him an hour to sort through the mound of garbage. As the sweaty and weary man was about to call it quits, an employee helping with the search spotted the plastic bag containing the wallet.
