EPA Seeks Comment

REBEKAH A. HALL

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., is seeking industry input on the effectiveness of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act's (RCRA) hazardous waste generator regulatory program.

The EPA encourages both large and small hazardous waste generators to attend meetings to help the agency evaluate potential changes to the hazwaste generator program. The EPA then will decide whether changes to the program are necessary. If so, the agency will develop and implement a strategy that fosters improved program effectiveness, a pollution prevention stewardship philosophy and reduces compliance costs.
