Peachtree City, Ga. - Harris Waste Management, Peachtree City, Ga., has teamed up with Kamstra Communications Inc. and Great Western Recycling Industries Inc., St. Paul, Minn., and Ronald McDonald Houses to expand a beverage can tab recycling program. The program has been successful in raising money for the Ronald McDonald Houses, which provide temporary housing for families of children undergoing treatment for serious illnesses.

The program collects the tabs, which are brought to local recycling centers, boxed and sold by weight to aluminum mills. The money from the transaction is donated to the nearest Ronald McDonald house.

The program started in St. Paul, Minn., in 1987 to aid the Twin Cities' Ronald McDonald House. Since then, Great Western Recycling has received more than 250 tons of tabs, raising more than $200,000 for the house.

The participating companies kicked off their involvement by helping finance the production of 100,000 beverage can tab collection boxes, which are distributed to schools, offices, community centers and places of worship in the Midwest region. The boxes eventually will be distributed nationwide.

Contracts The Milwaukee County Department of Public Works has contracted Camp Dresser & McKee Inc., Cambridge, Mass., to remediate landfill closure in Milwaukee.

Community Waste Disposal Inc., Dallas, has been awarded a contract by Kaufman, Texas, to collect recyclables.

Chambers Development Co. Inc., Pittsburgh, has been contracted to transport and dispose of municipal solid waste from Bergen County, N.J.

Name Change B&V Waste Science and Technology Corp., a Black & Veatch subsidiary, Kansas City, Mo., has changed its name to Black & Veatch Waste Science Inc.

New Location Caron Compactor Co., Modesto, Calif., has opened its international distribution center in Escalon, Calif.

Lindemann Recycling Equipment Inc. has moved its headquarters from New York to Charlotte, N.C.

The Cumberland Engineering Division of John Brown Plastics Machinery, South Attleboro, Mass., has relocated its West Coast parts and service center to Ontario, Calif.

Onyx Inc., Indianapolis, has selected Michigan City, Ind., for its new manufacturing facility.

New Projects International Process Systems Inc., Hampton, N.H., will supply a composing system for a facility at Pittsburgh Institution near Kingston, Ontario.
