Advanced Disposal Acquires Two Charlotte, N.C., Waste Businesses

Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has acquired two solid waste companies in the Charlotte, N.C., region for an undisclosed amount.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal said in a news release it bought Carolina Systems Inc., which operates as Cleanwell Sanitation, of Denver, N.C. Advanced also purchased the commercial roll-off solid waste business of the Charlotte-based Doggett Concrete Inc., which operates as Dumpster Services.

The purchase expands the company’s position in the Charlotte marketplace by adding service to about 2,200 customers, primarily in the Lake Norman area.

As part of the transaction, Advanced Disposal will acquire three trucks and all of the containers and customer contracts.

Cleanwell Sanitation began providing residential waste services in 1998, and Dumpster Services has served commercial roll-off customers since 2008.

“Acquiring both the assets of Cleanwell Sanitation and the commercial roll-off solid waste collection assets of Dumpster Services presented an excellent opportunity for us to grow our commercial and residential business in the Charlotte area by strengthening our density and efficiencies,” said Charlie Gray, Advanced Disposal regional vice president.
