Advanced Disposal buys Wisconsin Waste Hauler, Illinois Transfer Station

Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has acquired Wisconsin hauler Sheboygan Waste Materials Co. and a transfer station in Illinois for undisclosed amounts.

The Ponte Vedra, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal said in a news release it expanded its footprint in eastern Wisconsin with the purchase of the Sheboygan-based waste hauler. The acquisition includes a material recycling facility (MRF), customers, equipment and vehicles. Five employees will join Advanced Disposal.

Advanced Disposal was Sheboygan Waste's largest customer for more than 30 years, bringing cardboard and paper to their recycling facility. “We look forward to providing comprehensive recycling solutions to our new customers,” said Jay Rooney, Advanced Disposal regional vice president.

Advanced Disposal bought a transfer station in Roscoe, Ill., from G&E Eight Series LLC, also based in Roscoe, to expand its footprint in northern Illinois.

The purchase includes a 7-acre property, an 18,000-square-foot transfer building, a 3,000-square-foot office area and a 10,700-square-foot, two-story building.

The transfer station had been inactive for a few months prior to the acquisition. Advanced Disposal will dispose of waste delivered to the facility at its Orchard Hills Landfill in Davis Junction, Ill., accordiing to a news release.

The facility will accept municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris and recycling from the public and third-party haulers.
