Green Processing Buys Composting Firm Biogrow

Waste and environmental company Green Processing Technologies Inc. has acquired Canadian composting and organics processor Biogrow Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Green Processing, of Swanton, Md., said in a news release that part of the reason for the purchase is the Biogrow soil treatment made through co-composting with aZeolite component. Zeolite enhances the ion exchange capacity of the product, which may help to mitigate metal toxicity to vegetation, the company said.

The market opportunities for Green Processing with the Biogrow product lines range from retail home fertilizer applications to commercial mining remediation projects.

Green Processing’s environmental business includes electronic waste and medical waste remediation. Stephen Cummins is chairman of Green Processing.
