Ingram Micro Buys E-Waste Recycler CloudBlue

Ingram Micro Inc. has bought electronic waste recycler CloudBlue Technologies Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The Santa Ana, Calif.-based Ingram, which is a mobile device lifecycle firm and a technology distributor, acquired Norcross, Ga.-based CloudBlue, which provides e-waste recycling services, onsite data destruction and information technology (IT) asset disposition for large enterprise customers, retail customers and original equipment manufacturers, according to a news release.

CloudBlue, which has more than 1,000 customers, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro.

"The addition of CloudBlue to Ingram Micro allows us to meaningfully expand our supply chain solutions portfolio with a full suite of in-demand services that reduce the risk, cost and complexity associated with securely managing IT assets and consumer electronics throughout their lifecycle in compliance with environmental and data security regulations,” said Alain Monié, Ingram Micro president and CEO.
