Waste Management Buys Minnesota Waste and Recycling Firm

Waste Management Inc. has bought a Minnesota waste and recycling company for an undisclosed amount.

The Houston-based Waste Management bought Affordable Disposal and Recycling LLC, based in St. Joseph, Minn., according to Julie Ketchum, director of government affairs for the Minnesota and Wisconsin area.

Affordable Disposal has about 2,000 residential and about 150 commercial accounts, she says.  The company’s website says it serves 18 communities in central Minnesota.

The company has six employees and six trucks.

Ketchum says the acquisition will be a seamless transition, and the company expects rates to stay the same for at least a year.
