Waste Management Subsidiary Buys Reliable Environmental Transport

Waste Management Inc.’s West Seneca, N.Y., subsidiary has bought a waste transportation and natural gas operation, Reliable Environmental Transport.

Waste Management of West Seneca acquired Bridgeport, W.V.-based Reliable Environmental Transport (RET) for an undisclosed amount, the Houston-based Waste Management said in a news release.

RET provides services to the natural gas exploration and production industry in the Utica, N.Y., and Marcellus Shale (Appalachia) regions. RET serves the exploration, midstream and downstream gas markets with traditional non-hazardous and Department of Transportation hazardous transportation services, heavy industrial vacuum capabilities, pad services and emergency response.

RET President Jonathan Marks will remain with Waste Management as director of gas and hazardous waste services for Waste Management’s upstate New York, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia market.

WM said it offers single-source environmental management services to oil and natural gas producers, including transportation, storage, recycling, treatment and disposal processes.

“RET is a great strategic fit with Waste Management and provides us a leading edge in servicing the needs of our customers,” stated Dave Balbierz, area vice president of Waste Management’s upstate New York, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia market area.
