Washington, D.C. — Mike Leavitt, administrator of the Washington, D.C.-based Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and representatives from 13 other countries signed an agreement yesterday to formally create the Methane to Markets Partnership. The project "will advance international cooperation in the recovery and use of methane as a valuable clean energy source while reducing greenhouse gas emissions," according to the EPA.
The EPA originally announced the partnership in July.
