Allied Partners With RecycleBank

Phoenix-based Allied Waste has partnered with RecycleBank, Philadelphia, to launch a national recycling incentive program. The partnership allows Allied residential customers to receive points for the amounts they recycle. The points can be redeemed for gift cards, discounts and merchandise at more than 400 national and local retailers.

"Our partnership with RecycleBank is another way in which we are continuing our long history of providing innovative solutions to our customers while also being strong stewards of our environment," said Jay Leyden, senior vice president of customer development for Allied Waste, in a press release. "By matching our national reach and state-of-the-art recycling centers with RecycleBank's creative incentive program, we create a great opportunity that can benefit millions of customers, the participating retailers and, ultimately, the environment."

The partnership hopes to add nearly 1 million new residential recyclers to the program by 2010, according to Allied.
