Ohio EPA Approves Rumpke's Landfill Expansion

Colerain Township, Ohio — The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has approved the 95-acre expansion of Cincinnati-based Rumpke Consolidated Companies’ landfill in Colerain Township. The expansion will provide 37.7 million cubic yards of capacity, or roughly 13 years of disposal time, according to Rumpke. The expansion will increase the daily amount of waste processed from 8,600 tons to 10,000 tons. As part of an agreement with Colerain Township, Rumpke will add to the 25 cent per ton host community fee that it pays to the township by paying an additional 20 cents per ton when the firm disposes of waste in the expansion area.
