Phoenix-based Republic Services has launched its 101 Days of Summer safety program. “While the campaign is directed toward our drivers, these safety tips can apply to every person who drives,” said Shawn Mandel, Republic safety manager, in a press release. “Driving a garbage truck is a very physically demanding job and we are compelled to do everything we can to protect the health and welfare of both our employees and the people we serve.”

Each Republic division has developed a specific summer safety plan and will track its progress with a 101 Days of Summer banner. Ongoing training sessions will reinforce the safety program.
