Waste Management To Close Pennsylvania Landfill

Houston-based Waste Management (WM) has decided to close a landfill near Philadelphia instead of appealing a state ruling against its proposed expansion, according to press reports. According to The Mercury newspaper, Pennsylvania’s Environmental Hearing Board last month upheld an October 2004 decision by the state to deny WM’s request to vertically expand its Pottstown Landfill.
