Recognized for its community support, Waste Management has received the Business of the Year award from the Simi Valley, Calif., Boys and Girls Club, and the Simi Valley Police Foundation also awarded its President’s Award to Mike Smith, market area manager for Waste Management.

As a result of Waste Management’s financial and volunteer support, the Boys and Girls club has been able to serve more children and conduct more on-site programs, including a recent one at a local elementary school.

Smith was given the award for his service as a member of the foundation’s board of directors.
