Agromin recycled more than 366,800 tons of yard waste from Southern California communities last year. That amount is a 21 percent increase from 2008, when the firm, which composts yard waste to produce soil products, recycled 302,139 tons of yard waste.

β€œOur sustainable system keeps waste out of landfills and reduces greenhouse gas emissions,” said Bill Camarillo, CEO of Agromin, in a press release. β€œThe increased amount of green materials collected in 2009 is a positive indication that more and more residents and businesses are joining in the effort.”
