NSWMA and WASTEC Contribute to Hurricane Relief Efforts

Washington -- The Washington-based national Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and WASTEC have each made a $1,000 donation to the America Red Cross to aid in the relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The money will help the victims in New Orleans and other areas in the Gulf region.

In a released statement, the Environmental Industry Associations, the parent organization for NSWMA, said, “The destruction, physical and emotional damage to both the communities and more than one million people in this area is almost beyond words. I encourage each of you personally and your companies collectively to do what you can to assist. Our prayers go out to those who have employees and loved ones in the affected areas and to all those who are having to deal with the aftermath of this terrible disaster.”
