Toronto-based IESI-BFC Ltd. posted a net income of $19.1 million on $268.4 million in revenue during the third quarter of 2009. For the same period in 2008, the firm reported a net income of $16.3 million on $282.2 million in revenue.

For the first nine months of 2009, IESI-BFC Ltd. posted a net income of $43.9 million on $746 million in revenue. For the same period in 2008, the firm reported a net income of $45 million on $803.2 million in revenue.

“We delivered strong performance in the third quarter relative to current economic conditions,” said Keith Carrigan, vice chairman and CEO of IESI-BFC Ltd., in a press release. “We continued to drive core price growth in our business and achieved positive volume in our Canadian operations with only a marginal volume decline in the U.S.”
