Richmond, Va., Buys 25 CNG Refuse Trucks

Richmond, Va., has purchased 25 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered refuse trucks. They are the first such refuse trucks to be purchased by the city.

The trucks, which are slated to begin arriving in Richmond in January, feature McNeilus bodies, Crane Carrier chassis, Allison transmissions and Cummins engines.

Richmond also will install its own CNG fueling station, which it will use to refuel the refuse trucks as well as public transit buses.
