Billionaire Warren Buffett has purchased 3.625 million shares of Republic Services, according to a report in the Arizona Republic newspaper. The paper cited a recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Buffet reportedly spent about $96 million to buy the shares. He purchased about 1 percent of Republic’s outstanding shares, the Arizona Republic says.
