Waste Management to Acquire Glacier Recycle

More About:

Houston-based Waste Management has reached an agreement to purchase Auburn, Wash.-based Glacier Recycle, which provides construction debris recycling. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In a statement, Dean Kattler, Waste Management’s vice president-Pacific Northwest, said the Glacier acquisition will “significantly” expand Waste Management’s construction recycling in the Puget Sound region. It will “also position WM to provide services to support the continued growth of green building and LEED certification across the region,” a company press release said.

“This is good news for everyone who wants to see less waste going into landfills,” Kattler said in the press release. “It is part of Waste Management’s increasing focus on reducing waste, recovering materials from the waste stream and putting waste to its highest and best use.”
