China Takes Note of Environmental Imbalance

Beijing -- Rapid economic growth in China is exaggerating environmental problems and causing the country to examine a route to sustainable development. The country has adopted a program for action in which government officials at all levels take a more active approach to guiding legislation toward end results of low consumption, low pollution and high efficiency. The program also favors financial commitment to sustainable development and international relationships that stress environmental protection.
