Cow Disease Denies Trash Trucks Entry to Michigan

Toronto -- Trucks trying to cross the border to Michigan hauling garbage and meat were sent back to Canada Wednesday after one cow in Fairview, Alberta, was diagnosed with mad cow disease. The halt was temporary, and Canadian garbage trucks now are being allowed to cross in to Michigan. Border officials are closely monitoring shipments of beef and livestock.
