New York –- Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty has announced that the Department of Sanitation’s Citywide Illegal Dumping Task Force impounded 19 vehicles involved with illegal dumping in February. The DSNY Task Force monitors known dumping sites and seizes the vehicle of those caught violating the law. Thanks to the department's Illegal Dumper Tips Program, it has reduced the number of dumpers citywide.
