WCA Waste to Release First-Quarter Report on April 27

Houston-based WCA Waste Corp. will release its first-quarter 2011 financial report after the close of the stock market on Wednesday, April 27. The firm will conduct a conference call at 8:30 a.m. EST on Thursday, April 28, to discuss the results.

During fourth-quarter 2010, WCA Waste posted a net loss of $611,000 on $57.6 million in revenue. In the same period in 2009, the firm posted a net loss of $2.3 million on $46.2 million in revenue.

For all of 2010, the firm posted a net loss of $2.6 million on $229.5 million in revenue during 2010. Both figures represented improvements from 2009, when the firm posted a net loss of $3.3 million on $194.1 million in revenue.

“We are very pleased by the strength of core solid waste pricing in the small container and municipal solid waste landfill markets as industry fundamentals stabilized in 2010 … ,” said Tom Fatjo, chairman and CEO of WCA Waste, at the time of the release of the fourth-quarter and full-year 2010 reports. “In 2011, we remain focused on leveraging our growth opportunities in all of our markets and will pursue tuck-in acquisitions around our landfills.”
