WCA Waste’s Revenue Increases and Net Loss Decreases

Houston-based WCA Waste posted a net loss of $2.6 million on $229.5 million in revenue during 2010. Both figures represent improvements from 2009, when the firm posted a net loss of $3.3 million on $194.1 million in revenue.

During fourth-quarter 2010, WCA Waste posted a net loss of $611,000 on $57.6 million in revenue. In the same period in 2009, the firm posted a net loss of $2.3 million on $46.2 million in revenue.

“We are very pleased by the strength of core solid waste pricing in the small container and municipal solid waste landfill markets as industry fundamentals stabilized in 2010 … ,” said Tom Fatjo, chairman and CEO of WCA Waste. “In 2011, we remain focused on leveraging our growth opportunities in all of our markets and will pursue tuck-in acquisitions around our landfills.”
