Mack Trucks to Add 125 Workers to Macungie, Pa., Plant

Greensboro, N.C.-based Mack Trucks will add approximately 125 employees to its Macungie, Pa., assembly plant in the first week of October. The increased workforce likely will consist of laid-off workers that are recalled as well as new hires.

“This action will support a ramp-up in production,” said John Walsh, director of media relations for Mack Trucks, in a statement. “While the construction market remains very weak, we’ve recently experienced an uptick in order activity on the highway and refuse sides of our business.”

Mack retail sales in the U.S. market were up 17 percent through July when compared with the same period last year, Walsh added.
