City of Augusta, Kan., to Phase in Curbside Recycling

Augusta is almost ready to launch a comprehensive and convenient curbside recycling program. The move has been discussed for the past five years by the City Council and a city task force.

As news was shared about the recycling carts that would be assigned to each local address, some residents had reservations.

“The recycling program is a great idea, but finding a space for both carts without parking them in my front yard is going to be difficult. It’s not my idea of yard art,” Rhonda Zinn of Augusta said.
