Covanta Extends Service Agreement with Long Beach, Calif.

Covanta Long Beach Renewable Energy, based in Long Beach, California, a subsidiary of Covanta Holding Corp., Morristown, New Jersey, has extended its agreement with the city of Long Beach, California, for the operations and maintenance of the Southeast Resource Recovery Facility (SERRF). The amended agreement, which was approved by the Long Beach City Council in late April, extends the term of the current agreement from Dec. 8, 2018 to June 30, 2024.

"Covanta is pleased to continue our partnership with the city of Long Beach," says Paul Stauder, Covanta senior vice president, sustainable solutions. "Long Beach is a national leader in recycling and waste diversion. We are proud of our role to serve the city and its residents with reliable and sustainable operations of the SERRF, which has been a cornerstone of this success."
