Texas Disposal, Four Seasons Develop In-Room Composting, Recycling Program

Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) and The Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas, have developed an in-room composting and recycling program.

The Creedmoor, Texas-based TDS said in a news release it developed the system with the goal of diverting 90 percent of waste from landfills.

The Four Seasons Hotel asked TDS to devise a program offering guests the option of recycling and composting in their rooms. TDS chose to offer compost bags and trash receptacles with two containers, one for waste and one for recycling.

TDS can process all the materials at its headquarters facility. The organic waste is generated into compost sold under its Garden-Ville brand, the company said.
