Waste Management, Keep America Beautiful Award Community Grants

Waste Management Inc. has awarded ThinkGreen grants to 41 grassroots organizations that follow Keep America Beautiful’s (KAB) mission.

The Stamford, Conn.-based KAB said in a news release that 41 Community Improvement Grants were awarded to local organizations that support the nonprofit KAB’s mission.

The Houston-based Waste Management’s Think Green grants are part of an effort to encourage the development of local environmental solutions that improve communities through hands-on participation opportunities such as cleanups, beautification, recycling and environmental educational programs.

"By working with KAB and their affiliates, Waste Management has the opportunity to create positive change through localized solutions that enhance our communities,” said Barry Caldwell, Waste Management senior vice president of public affairs and communications and past chairman of the KAB board.

Waste Management works with KAB on programs designed to increase recycling and support community sustainability.
