Allied Waste First Quarter Meets Expectations

Scottsdale, Ariz. — Despite a lower profit of $25.9 million, Allied Waste Industries' first quarter 2001 earnings met analysts' expectations. Revenues for the quarter fell to $1.35 billion from $1.38 billion a year earlier, and the company reduced its debt by $124 milion to approximately $9.525 billion.
