American Ecology Reports $2.2 Million Profit

Boise, Idaho — American Ecology Corp. has reported net income of $2.2 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2002, compared with net income of $326,000 for the same quarter last year. Operating income was $2.5 million, compared with operating income of $178,000 for the same quarter last year.

The company also has reappointed Rotchford L. Barker to its board of directors.
