Phoenix — The 2000 Dirty Dozen litter survey, conducted by the Center for Marine Conservation, announced its results as part of the International Coastal Cleanup where volunteers record what they find along the shorelines of lakes, rivers and washes. Beverage cans were at the top of the listing, accounting for nearly 23 percent of all litter collected.
