Bush Announces Intended EPA Nominations

Washington, D.C. -- President George W. Bush has announced his intention to nominate Linda Morrison Combs as chief financial officer and J. Paul Gilman as assistant administrator for research and development for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If nominated, Combs will be responsible for managing strategic planning and accountability, annual budget, resources management and financial management functions, payroll, and disbursements. Gilman will be responsible for the EPA's research arm, comprised of three national laboratories, two national centers and two Washington, D.C.- based science support offices.
