Chicago — Mayor Richard M. Daley announced that the city will buy a substantial amount of clean, or "green" power, from ComEd to use as renewable electricity. Under the terms of the agreement, 20 percent of the city's electricity will come from green sources such as landfill gas (LFG). ComEd initially will buy green power from companies converting LFG and eventually will use other sources, such as wind and solar energy.
