EPA Announces $38 Million in Brownfields Grants

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Christie Whitman has announced more than $38 million in grants for brownfields assessment and cleanup in 90 communities nationwide. Communities received funding in a variety of categories, including $7 million in brownfields assessment pilot grants, $5 million to expand brownfields assessment on existing sites and $26 million for a "brownfields cleanup revolving loan fund" to help 46 communities.
