EPA to Proceed with Lead Emissions Rule

Washington, D.C. — After reviewing a Toxics Release Inventory rule on lead, promulgated during President Clinton's final days in office, the Bush administration has decided to proceed with the rule. By lowering the lead emissions reporting threshold from 25,000 annual pounds to 100 annual pounds, the new rule applies to many more companies than did the previous rule.
